부족하다를 영어로 맥락에 따라 말하는 4가지 표현방식

1. (무엇의 양이) 부족하다.

• I don't have enough time / money.
• I don't have enough experience yet.
• There aren't enough seats.

2. 어떤 특징이 부족한

• It's not good enough.
• It's not big / small / cold / hot ... enough.
• Although she has been recovering very quickly, she's stll not strong enough to start training. - 비록 그녀가 빠르게 회복하고 있을지라도, 훈련을 시작하기에는 아직 부족해.

3. 아직 할 일이 많을 때 / 배울 것이 많을 때 / 갈 길이 멀었을 때

• I still have a lot of work to do. ( I still have a lot to work on.)
• I still have a lot to learn.
• I still have a long way to go.

4. 완벽하지 않다.

• I'm not the perfect husband in a lot of ways but I try my best. - 난 남편으로서 완벽하지 않지만 그래도 최선을 다해.
• It's not the perfect office space, but it's the best I can do right now. - 사무실 공간으로 완벽하지 않지만 그래도 지금 내가 할 수 있는 최선이야.

 

• 문장 만들기
  • 그들은 재료가 부족한 것 같아. - I think they don't have enough ingredients.
  • 이 동네 사람들은 진한 커피를 좋아하는 것 같아. 커피 맛이 지금 팔기에는 좀 부족해. - I think people in this neighborhood prefer strong coffee. It's not strong enough to sell now.
  • 해결방법으로 완벽하진 않아도, 지금 내가 할 수 있는 최선이야. - It's not the perfect solution, but it's the best I can do right now.
